Great experience with you guys. All love from Canada. I am enjoying this, Thanks team.

This bike is like a motorcycle. It’s fast fun and responsive. Everything works perfect. I shopped around big time. The 1000 watt motor battery size and inverter or battery volt thing work perfect. It is way more than what I was expecting. Quality for your buck. I love it. Thanks.

Only been able to ride it once, due to weather. I got to try the pedal assist and throttle. It doesn’t seem like its size slows it down at all. Can’t wait for a warm dry trail to ride on. I think AR has made a lot of good choices when they put this bike together. I got the low step and needed to remove the bottle cage to allow easier access to bike. Like I said, it’s a monster. Keep up the good work. I wonder what you will come out with next. I’ll be watching.

We did need to tweak the derailleur just a little out of the box, not a big deal and quickly done.
Bike is still great especially considering I’m on the taller and heavier ends of things.
Easy to recommend.

Arrived in excellent condition and was very easy to assemble the front wheel. Was amazed at the workout I had in only pedal assist #1 while easily riding through the field behind my home. Simply amazing!

We ordered two Ariel Rider Kepler high-Step in Gray-Black. These large bicycles are lots of fun and make a solid commuter, as well as being suitable for slower bike path rides. I’ve managed 60 miles on a single charge, at 225lbs of rider plus gear, with moderate pedal assist. On throttle only commutes, at the MO ebike speed limit of 30mph, mileage can drop as low as under 15 miles.
These bikes are definitely power focused. The equipment is enough to get the bike to speed and bring it to a stop, although I wouldn’t call the selection ‘high quality’. This is basic entry to mid-level gear here. The core value is in the powerful 52v/20ah battery & 1800w peak motor.
Examples of the basic level equipment include:
– There is a Zoom suspension fork to soak up bumps. Yet it dives so horribly on braking, even at maximum preload, that I keep it locked out most of the time.
– There are hydraulic Tektro HD-E350 brakes, but the OEM A10.11 pads don’t handle heat dissipation well. This heat buildup causes massive fade on longer hills or faster rides, with turkey gobbling sounds to accompany the longer stops.
– There are fat knobby CST BFG tires that are heavy and wire beaded (best of luck patching a tube without removing the wheel – folding bead, no problem whatsoever).
– The front hub bearings on one of ours had the bearing cones over-tightened. I found premature wear/pitting when I took them apart to clean, re-grease, and properly adjust. I didn’t expect cartridge bearings at this price point, but also not the low quality races/cones I found inside the hub.
– There are no security or tracking options included. The key is for battery removal only. The PIN is for advanced settings only.
Despite the lackluster equipment choices, our biggest disappointment so far are the V1 displays. One of our screens lost Walk Assist before 30 miles (yes, it was the screen, which surprised me as well). Losing Walk Assist is an issue with a bike weighing in just under 75lbs. This screen was replaced under warranty for free. That replacement screen has all the correct/current settings & functions as in the documentation.
And yet, the other screen we got as being initial purchasers, is stuck in the past. There are no Over-the-Air updates or options to return the display for flashing, so the original screen features bad or missing settings. For example, 48v rather than 52v, although all components are all 52v. Also, no Connect to App option, although it is on the current screen as shown in the Kepler user documentation. To fix the issues with this screen, Ariel Rider wants $85 plus shipping to bring my original screen up to the current version with correct information.
Today (7/22/2022) Ariel Rider support attempted to convince me this isn’t a ‘smart display’. That is after we returned one because Walk Assist stopped working, that it clearly has firmware, and also a Connect to App option (as in the latest screen firmware AND the documentation for the bike). Apparently Ariel Rider would have us believe that the controller has video output and the screen is a simple display device which accepts pure video from said controller, despite all evidence to the contrary. Which of course is a total fabrication; the display is flashable but does not support Over-the-Air (OTA) updates.
Later shipments (FYI the original shipment is referred to as Gen 1…let that sink in; there is no official version change for Kepler, simply the expectation that customers will take what they get because Ariel Rider has very little control over production beyond paying for production) also got improved lighting, in addition to screens with the correct configuration. Surely the Kepler will continue to get hardware and firmware upgrades on each shipment, which is a good thing. Having to pay for a new screen to get the firmware upgrades is highly disappointing in a modern consumer electronics product though.
My oven receives firmware updates. Every electronic (not electric…electronic, with a microprocessor) device I have purchased in the last 5 years gets updates. Not the Ariel Rider Kepler though.
Overall, the Kepler is unrefined, powerful fun that will commute over pretty much any conditions. The bike loves hills or other challenges. With a few quick component additions/swaps (GPS tracking, seat, suspension post, brake pads, tires, etc.) the bike gains some refinement that is otherwise lacking.
The electronics are a real disappointment though, especially in the lack of OTA support and pay for firmware updates approach.

I received my bike with a damaged fork and a couple other items that were damaged. All because of the shipping. All the parts are in the process of being sent. I am so looking forward to start riding. From what I’ve seen and heard I truly believe this is the Best bike out. Thank Y.

One problem with the bike out of the box, but good customer service helping to fix it.

The Kepler is a beast. Great power and comfort. The included rear rack is fantastic. Control screen is great but battery level indicator jumps 20 points down with acceleration, which is disconcerting on a long trip. Also, you can go 7 or 8 miles with it still indicating 100%, even though it’s not. That’s the reason for 4 stars.

Brought my bike in December, receive my bike 20 days ago took it out twice I live in Minnesota so we got a lot of snow on the ground but so far so good I really enjoyed it pretty fast comfortable love it can’t wait to the summertime.

Once you get the bike set up ( and the video is woeful) and wait for email responses to questions, the bike is a blast. Comfortable, sturdy and quick.
